海上獨木舟 1
Sunday, July 18th, 2004從剛到美國的時候，在西雅圖不同的水域中，常常看到很多人在滑獨木舟 (Kayak)，非常羨慕，總說有一天也要來試看看。後來出門玩的時候，有機會也會租租娛樂用的獨木舟在小湖滑滑。不過畢竟是娛樂用的，不是很有挑戰感。娛樂用的獨木舟，比較寬，所以比較穩定，但也比較慢。有時看到有店在平靜的海邊租比較高級的獨木舟的時候，店家要確定你有沒有上過救生的課才願意租，這時候就只能拍拍屁股，放棄在海上划獨木舟的念頭了。

Thursday, July 1st, 2004今天在讀一篇近五十年前的論文(E.T. Jaynes, Phys. Rev. Vol. 108, pp.171)，讀到作者關於量子力學的詮釋
Empirical verifiability of a probability assignment, and completeness of the density matrix from which the probabilities were obtained, are incompatible conditions. … This principle of “statistical complementarity” is not restricted to quantum mechanics, but holds in any application of probability theory; in a very fundamental sense no experiment can ever be repeated, and the most comprehensive probability assignments are necessarily incapable of verification.
這是我看過關於量子力學與機率論的詮釋中，個人認為最誠實的論述。
