上個周末到 Sunol 的山裡照了樹的剪影，與早些前照的月亮合成，效果很不錯，居然上了 photo.net 的 Top Photo 裡，快到 6 out of 7 的評分，滿足了小小的虛榮心。這是第一次拿到這麼高的評分，要找機會要把這張照片給印出來。

今天下午出去閒逛，在一個叫 Sunol 的小鎮看到在鐵軌上有些有趣的小車車，本來我以為是用來維護鐵道及火車的，結果是有特別俱樂部專門收集這些鐵軌動力小車。

剛好有帶相機，順便照了幾張像，放在我的線上相簿裡。

跟其中一台車的主人聊了一下，他說他們夏天的時候搭小車要去 British Columbia 的鐵軌上千哩旅行。好酷！

以前在 UW 的舊的 Web page 過期了，在網路上消失的無影無蹤，
唯一還有蹤影的就是在 google 的 cache 中和自己的備份了。有那麼一絲絲的失落感，根據最後幾天的 log 還有看到有人到老的網頁裡找 bg5ps/bg5pdf，這些人以後可能要失望了。過一陣子也許可以再幫 bg5ps/bg5pdf 建一個新窩。不知道沒有必要？一方面我沒有空去積極的維護 bg5ps/bg5pdf，大部分的 Linux 的 Distribution 都有相關的 Package 了，另一方面也不知道是不是還有人有需要用到這些軟體。如果真的有人有需要再說吧！

今天趁回家等 BART 時的空檔，去逛了一下在 Powell 附近的 Virgin Megastore，居然看到臥虎藏龍的英文版漫畫，有趣。

I went skiing for two days.

First day, I skied at Northstar. Northstar does not have
very difficult trails. Most of it’s black diamond trails should be
ranked only as advanced blue trails. I stayed on the backside in the
morning. Most trails in the backside are pretty similar to each
other. They are mostly straight down without many curves and changes
in slope. Since there was no new snow for a while, most trails are
icy to different degrees. I had to only focus on the edges of my ski
to react fast to avoid skidding. It was not too hard to control my
speed in such conditions. However, I still had problem to do precise
control on icy moguls. I had tried on some icy moguls, and it almost
worn me out.

在正體中文部落格資訊中心裡收集的部落格裡，部落格的意義是一個熱門話題(see also this, this , this and that)。有人把部落格是當作社會運動來推廣(link)，有人思考部落格的品牌、形象發展與電子報/媒體商品的不同(link1, link2)，也有人考慮部落格私人書寫、公開發表的性質對部落格文章的影響(link1, link2, link3)。
看了這些超部落格(姑且稱之metablog–討論部落格的格，雖然 metablog 也可以是收集部落格的部落格)不禁讓人想到那句老話，『文以載道』，令人覺得好像有寫部落格越來越沈重的感覺。

在多雨的北方城市呆了好一陣子，總是嚮往著陽光，然而分配到的辦公室總是缺少著一面窗戶，只能面對著 Web Cams 的影像發呆。這次終於搬到了一個有整面窗戶的辦公室，看看工作起來會不會比較有勁。

一整面朝西的窗戶，面對的是上下班時間擁擠的高速公路與火車緩緩駛過的鐵道。下午刺眼的太陽逼射，窗簾像是裝飾品，失去作用。不得已，用幾張難看的印表紙貼在窗上擋一擋，算是為了等待夕陽從雙峰落下的豔麗的代價吧！
